Park Planner - City of Allen

Salary Range:  $1,457.63 - $1,822.45/Bi-Weekly

Responsibilities:  The purpose of this position is to participate in planning for the Capital Projects Division of the Parks and Recreation Department, which is to plan and implement the growth, expansion and sustenance of parks, recreation facilities, trails and park-related landscapes. This is accomplished by assisting the landscape architect with managing capital projects including public art projects and, designing and planning landscape projects and reviewing park and landscape plans. Other duties include updating, and maintaining GIS and AutoCAD system mapping and preparing graphic support material for grant submittals and other various projects, attending meetings, preparing and conducting presentations, providing administrative support for Capital Projects and the Public Art Committee and interacting with other City employees and citizens.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture; supplemented by two (2) years previous experience that includes land development, planning, design of park-related landscape and construction projects.  Must possess AutoCAD proficiency.  Must also possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.  Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) a plus.
